What may and may not run on Zevonix-managed hosting. This policy exists to keep the platform stable and lawful for every customer on it.
Nearly all of this comes down to one idea: your site should not put other people's sites, or our infrastructure, at risk. We would rather talk to you about a problem than act unilaterally, and in practice that is what happens.
On this page
1. Prohibited use
You will not knowingly use the managed environment for:
- Unlawful activity, or content that is unlawful where it is published.
- Malware, phishing pages, credential harvesting, or command-and-control infrastructure.
- Attacking, scanning or attempting to gain unauthorised access to any system, ours or anyone else's.
- Infringing someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Child sexual abuse material, reported immediately to the authorities, with no notice period and no opportunity to cure.
- Unsolicited bulk email, or hosting the landing pages for it.
2. Resource use
Your plan provides a defined amount of CPU, memory and storage. Sustained use beyond what the plan provides, or use that destabilises the host, is not permitted. We will normally contact you to discuss a larger tier first.
Cryptocurrency mining, distributed computing and similar workloads are not permitted on hosting plans. Public file-distribution and media-streaming services are not permitted without prior agreement.
3. Security obligations
- Keep your own credentials secure. A second factor on your portal account is required: an authenticator app or a passkey. A passkey is the stronger choice, because it cannot be phished or reused on a copied sign-in page.
- Tell us promptly if a device holding a passkey is lost or stolen, so it can be removed from your account. You can also remove it yourself from My Cloud Manager.
- Do not install code you know to be vulnerable, abandoned or nulled. Nulled commercial themes and plugins are a common source of compromise and are not permitted.
- Tell us promptly if you believe a site or account has been compromised.
4. Email
Managed servers are configured for outbound transactional mail only: the messages your website needs to send, such as form notifications and password resets. They do not accept inbound mail and are not mailbox hosts. Bulk marketing email should be sent through a dedicated provider, not from the web server.
5. Software and licensing
You are responsible for holding valid licences for the themes, plugins and other software your site uses. A licence supplied through a Zevonix account may be available only while you remain subscribed to the applicable service; on termination you may need to buy your own or replace that component.
6. How we enforce this
If we reasonably determine that a site is compromised, is materially endangering the managed environment, is breaking the law, or is consuming resources in a way that threatens stability, we may act to protect the platform. Depending on severity that may mean isolating a file, blocking a request pattern, or suspending the site.
Where it is lawful and practical, we will tell you first, or immediately afterwards if we had to act at once. We will explain what we did and what is needed to restore normal service. Suspension is a last resort, not a first response.
7. Reporting abuse
If you believe something hosted by us breaches this policy, email [email protected] with the URL and a description. We investigate every report.
