What is my IP address?

Built-in

Show the public IP address seen for this request. This can help when troubleshooting DNS, VPNs or access rules.

The address is displayed only after you ask. No geolocation lookup is performed. A VPN or proxy may show its own address.

The address seen outside your network: Your device, Network route, Public address.
The address seen outside your network

Your public address can reflect your router, VPN or proxy. It may differ from the private address assigned to a device inside your network.

  • Public address
  • Network context
  • VPN or proxy

How to use this tool

  1. Connect through the network or VPN you want to inspect.
  2. Choose Show my public IP.
  3. Compare the returned public address with the address expected by the service you are troubleshooting.

Understanding the results

Public address
This is the public client address available to the request handling path, rather than a list of your device’s network interfaces.
IPv4 or IPv6
The address family depends on the connection used for this request. A network can support both families.
VPN or proxy
A VPN, gateway or proxy can present its own public address instead of the address you expect from your local connection.

What this check covers

No geolocation lookup is performed. This result does not reveal your router password, private LAN address or every address your network can use. Public addresses can change; avoid treating a one-time result as a permanent identity.

Common questions

Why is this different from my computer’s local IP?

Devices commonly use private addresses on a local network while a router or gateway provides a public address for internet access.

Does this show my exact location?

No. The tool displays the observed public address without performing a location lookup.
